Hanover Stables: A Family Session with the Bagwells
When I featured a Valentine's Day Mini Giveaway this year for the first time, I was really excited to see so many past clients participate in the hopes of winning the shoot. I couldn't have been happier when the Bagwell family won the giveaway in our drawing! We were due for a family session with their little one, Liam and I loved heading out to Hanover Stables in Castle Hayne, NC for our family photo shoot!

Isabel frequents the stables where she rides her horse in her downtime. It was such a treat to wander around the Hanover Stables property with this little boy and watch his eyes dart from one animal to the next, such a little adventurer already!
Can we just hit pause for a second and talk about how GORGEOUS Isabel is? I mean, come on! If modeling was not a thing of your personal history, Isabel, you have missed your calling!

After a photo shoot, I always visit the family at their home to reveal their images to them in person. I love the feedback and it is the most rewarding thing to be able to watch your clients see just how beautiful they are in their everyday moments, to see themselves as the world does. It is one of my favorite parts of the job, for sure!
During this reveal session, Isabel asked me what my favorite age to photograph was and it stopped me for a second...
The truth is, I'm just not sure that I have a favorite age, but I know where my passion lies. I live for that connection you get when a client lets you into their world to document those life-altering moments... to photograph the progression of their life is SUCH an absolute honor! Take Isabel & Josh for example... they were a part of my friend and past bride, Ali's, wedding party a few years back.
This led to Isabel asking me to photograph her maternity session.
Which led to photographing Liam in his first days of life.
Which led to photographing his first birthday.
And now we're here, a few months out from his second birthday already and it's just incredible to have watched this couple become a family trio!!! To be the person they chose to document this amazingly beautiful transition, what a privilege.
THAT is my favorite part.

A Fort Fisher Maternity Session: Gabrielle
In just a few more weeks, a new baby girl will be making her big debut into this family's mix! I had to sneak Gabby & Mya away for a maternity shoot at Fort Fisher, one of my favorite locations in the area to capture photographs of this Mama & her babies in all their glory. Here are just a few of my favorites from our shoot!
When I found out that my old coworker, Gabby, and her beautiful family were moving into the neighborhood, I was so excited! Mya, her little girl, is just a few years older than Isla and I cannot wait to see all the fun they have together. Even more exciting is knowing that in just a few more weeks, their new baby girl will be making her big debut into the mix! ST. JAMES PLANTATION: Sydney & ReillY, Birthday Girls
Over the years, I have watched a good number of families grow and change from behind my camera lens. This family of three became a family of four last year and with just a blink of an eye, now little Reilly is turning FIVE and Sydney is turning ONE! It's incredible just how quickly these little kiddos become such big personalities... so awesome! We thought we would take advantage of the gorgeous weather and St. James Plantation's pretty backdrops and photograph the youngins' for their birthday celebrations!

If left alone with them, you will end up with a ridiculous number of photographs showing every possible movement throughout the day for no reason whatsoever except simply... they're cute and I love them! St. James Plantation- Bianca Maternity Session
One of my favorite locations, St. James Plantation in Southport, NC, was calling our names when it came time for Bianca's maternity session, seeing as we both have worked on this property before! Woodlands Park was so pretty with the last splash of fall colors in the leaves, with just enough dappled sunlight streaming through... (sigh) just gorgeous! I was so excited to meet Bianca & Channing as they celebrated the pregnancy of their first baby, a little boy they named Atlas.

Ashlee & Her Boys
I absolutely loved this baby-wearing family photo shoot with Ashlee & all of her boys :) Handsome fellas, gorgeous pregnant Mama, beautiful wrap, Spanish moss...what more do you need? Oh yeah! Tiff and her camera ;)
Ashlee was my very first photo shoot client, back when her little boy Adam was on his way. And look at her now! Such a great Mom to three little boys & pursuing her calling as a Doula! She's awesome. And I love her family, look at these cute boys, how could you NOT fall in love with those little faces?This maternity shoot was special because we were pregnant at the time, which was so fun to have someone to talk "pregnancy craziness" with.

Laryn & Jayden Wrightsville Beach Session
For this photo session, we headed out to Wrightsville Beach to enjoy a quiet, early morning with our babies & my camera...
So, my hairdresser , Stacey, is pretty darned awesome and we have been able to work together over the years, I photograph her babies, she tames the mane! Lucky for me, her sister Laryn is ALSO awesome and she and her hubby Matthew have the cutest little girl, Jayden, who I get to photograph! For this photo session, we headed out to Wrightsville Beach to enjoy a quiet, early morning with our babies & my camera...

The next few photographs crack me up! My little girl, Isla was a few months old here and we decided to put the kids in a big fabric bin and see how they would interact. Isla had never been around another baby before. Her reaction is priceless!

With gorgeous weather just around the corner, I thought I would start my game of Blog Catch-up with this warm, beachy photo session in Oak Island of the Greene Family! I absolutely adore their little family. The twins, Mack & Caroline & the newest sibling Elizabeth are incredibly cute and used to my antics now as this is a few sessions in for their family and myself!
I love how they tried to help their little sister walk on the sand. They look so proud that she's theirs!

October 1999. That was the first birthday we spent together. We weren't officially letting people know we were a "couple" yet, but I remember having the biggest crush on you and finding a way to bake a cake in our dorm kitchen for your birthday. Shortly after that, I met your family for the first time at Disney World and you introduced me as your "girlfriend" for the first time. And that was that, I was head over heels and such a goner for you.
Fast forward through the years, and you'll see our story: laughs, adventures, fun, struggles, triumphs, marriage, our first home and now our first baby. So much good in all of that. I'm such a lucky girl to call you my own.

We're so old...
It doesn't seem all that long ago, all of this. We were just kids, traveling around the world with my family thanks to our military brat lifestyle (which I love and miss so much). My brother was this teeny little blonde haired kid, quick to laugh, quick to cuddle with our folks and especially our grandparents. He would carry a little blanket around like Linus. And then I take a look around, and we're practically grown ups. I have no idea how that happened...
It doesn't seem all that long ago, all of this. We were just kids, traveling around the world with my family thanks to our military brat lifestyle (which I love and miss so much). My brother was this teeny little blonde haired kid, quick to laugh, quick to cuddle with our folks and especially our grandparents. He would carry a little blanket around like Linus. Tonight, this guy is headed into the hospital with his fiancee to try and have a baby :) I can't even explain how excited I am for them to start this new adventure together. Their little girl, Charlie (have I mentioned yet that I ADORE her name), will be here soon and I can't wait to kiss her baby cheek and take about a million photos of her.
