Cassy and I go waaaaaaay back. I'm talking long before I set foot in high school or held my own driver's license. Cass is the little sister of one of my oldest friends, and I was so thrilled to hear she was planning a vacation to North Carolina from Minnesota, and even more thrilled that she wanted to get together for family photos! The younger sister I once knew is allll grown up, with a husband and three beautiful children, so amazing! Myrtle Beach: Yarter Family Photo Session
One of the best things about being able to take family photos is watching a family grow and change over the years. The Yarter family, as a big group, has been in front of my lens on multiple occasions and I was so thrilled to be asked to photograph them again this summer at their go to vacation spot: Myrtle Beach, SC.

St. James Plantation: The Grecco's 50th Anniversary Celebration
50 years of marriage... it's an incredible feat, don't you agree? Fifty years of life changes, ups, downs, babies, careers, loss, adventure. To be chosen to photograph a celebration like a 50th anniversary, to be able to witness a love that is still so apparent between Pat & Frank Grecco at their beautiful St. James event, was an honor. Their wedding song was "Moon River" and I definitely recommend playing the audio file while scrolling through some of my favorites from their big day!

Barnes has a way of making MJ's whole face just light up starting with her beautiful smile. They are funny, playful and so at ease with one another and to be around them is to truly know what it means to find your "other half". They are meant to be! This downtown Wilmington engagement session was absolutely perfect and I for one, am counting down until their big day!

To say that I am ridiculously excited every time my friend, Aftyn, invites me to photograph her family would be a complete understatement! Eric & Aftyn's children, Roman & Clair are so absolutely adorable, I cannot even take it. And they won the gene pool lottery when it comes to beautiful, long lashes! Divenanzos, thank you for hopping on board for a beach mini session at Holden Beach, I had a blast!

Fort Fisher: Erica & Tyler's Wedding Portraits
Being nontraditional in the best sort of way, Erica and I collaborated on the idea of a styled wedding session BEFORE their big day, which I absolutely loved working on! The new-bohemian-with-a-60's-twist details came out better than I could have imagined. Can I just say that I am a wee bit obsessed with sunset at Fort Fisher, absolutely BREATHTAKING! Thank you so much for going with the flow and trusting the vision for this shoot. I am so thrilled with how the images showcase how beautiful your love is, congratulations!!!

Erica & I started out early in the morning at Old Brunswick Town to take advantage of the beautiful morning light and amazing Spanish moss covered trees surrounding the St. Philips Church ruins.
^ Did I mention that Erica DIY'ed the floral crown??? Stunning and so perfect! Her Free People dress couldn't have been more suited to her. Love it all!
Next, we met back up at sunset at Fort Fisher to watch our many planning email come to life with the help of some carefully selected props! I'm so glad they brought their pup, Webber, along too. He was adorable!
My absolute favorite part of this whole session was our trek out to the boardwalk area of Fort Fisher that opens up into beautiful green reeds, herons, such a peaceful environment I cannot even describe it... just perfect.
