Fort Fisher │Family Session The Williams
This family has pretty much been in front of my lens from the very beginning of my photography journey. I've watched them grow from a family of three, to a family of five. We've done photo shoots in Wilmington, Fayetteville, Savannah, Raleigh and Kure Beach. I am so appreciative of the time I get to spend with my photo clients, and I could not be more thrilled to share this sweet Fort Fisher family session from last fall!

Wilmington │Engagement Jon & Amanda
This little city of ours is just awesome for photography, especially sunset engagement sessions like Amanda & Jon's! The weather was beautiful, the little walk around the boardwalk and downtown area was perfection and I just love this couple so much. Their wedding was held in The Beam Room downtown in the Front Street Brewery building, and we had a blast! That wedding post will be up in a few, but first let's take a peek at their engagement photos, shall we?

Southport │Engagement Ryan & Kathy
Kathy & Ryan had an engagement session in mind for beautiful Southport, NC which was simply a joy to carry out! We spent the afternoon strolling through the town, with focus on the gorgeous landscape and really just getting to know each other in preparation for their big wedding day on St. James Plantation. Engagement sessions should not just be time spent posing in front of someone's camera, but a chance to spend a little time with one another, to ease into the process of being someone's camera focus, and to get comfortable not only with a lens pointed at you, but the person BEHIND the lens.
Kathy & Ryan had an engagement session vision in mind for beautiful Southport, NC which was simply a joy to carry out! Hugh Macrae Park │Engagement Darryl & Domonique
2017 has me very excited for wedding season and all of these beautiful couples I have met in the past few months! Domonique & Darryl will be tying the knot in Fayetteville in just a few weeks and I cannot wait to see all of those gorgeous wedding details I know will be waiting for my camera! How amazing is it to be invited into a person's life to photograph them while they are pregnant with their first baby? Now take that awesome privilege and add to it a couple years worth of baby milestones, military homecoming and then a maternity session for their SECOND baby! It's really so thrilling to me to watch two people become a family, and to watch the family dynamic grow and change over the years!
So many favorites! I hope they look back one day at these photos and remember all of those little moments that made up our photo session, the baby sounds, how tiny he was in that moment, how giant the standard hospital issue pacifier looks in his baby mouth... the candid family moments always speak to my heart!(Side note: look how cute Jesse's nursery is! Matthew & Laryn have some major DIY skills, guys!!!)
Call me an oversharer, but I cannot be stopped! I just love this family :)

Laryn and I have had quite the photo adventure the last few months! While her hubby was away working hard for the military, Laryn and theirADORABLE daughter, Jayden spent some time with me last fall for Laryn's maternity shoot. Gorgeous fall foliage, and I really don't think it's fair how beautiful Laryn looks while pregnant. Not. Fair. Laryn.
I have been editing away today and cannot wait to share their newborn session, but thought it only fitting that I share their maternity BEFORE the newborn, haha!

Military Homecoming │Matthew & Laryn
Friends, I just took a breather and counted the many photo sessions that have not been blogged, and let's just say it's time to jump back in and catch up!! My friend and lovely photo client, Laryn, and her family has had a busy year and up next on the blog you will see her hubby's military homecoming, her beautiful fall maternity shoot & also her newborn photo session from last week!
As a military brat, I have always loved military homecomings and jumped at the chance to photograph Laryn & Jayden as they waited for Matthew to come home! Laryn has been holding down the fort, wrangling their toddler and also growing a new little one while Matthew was away, you know... no big deal ;)

My wonderful second shooter, Erica, (whose own bridal session can be found right here)has worked with me on several weddings now which I am very thankful for. She also is an amazing teacher who works alongside Amy! When she learned of Tim & Amy's engagement, she sent my info her way and the rest is history! We cannot wait for your summer wedding at the beautiful 128 South in downtown Wilmington!

You may remember Katy & Peter from their recent Fort Fisher sunset maternity session (if not, you should check it out right here). Recently, I changed the way I photograph newborns in that I no longer carry a ton of props with me, or rely on baskets and bowls to tuck them into. I do think that style is adorable, but I am loving simply coming to your home and photographing how you are as a brand new family. I love to watch you interact, see how your little one snuggles into you, walk around your nursery and just photograph your baby in their most beautiful, simple light. As a parent, those first moments seemed so fleeting and I would have loved to have someone photograph our first days together just being.

Andrea and her adorable kiddos Jaimie, Connor and baby Delaney came to visit their family in NC this summer, and called me up to schedule a sunset photo session at gorgeous Fort Fisher. I swear, the most beautiful people keep booking me, would you look at these perfect little faces? Love them! Anyone who has taken a toddlers photo knows it typically involves about a million squats, and lots of sprinting, and with me, a lot of talking to your little ones to get them to open up and have some fun. I have always loved kids, and being able to photograph them as they really are, not just as they are when posed, is one of my favorite things to do!
