Jordyn is an absolute dream of a baby. She was a little older than some babies for our newborn session due to some health issues, but that is never a problem in my eyes. I love photographing all ages, newborn sessions can be adjusted no matter the issue and I think this particular age was fantastic because we got so many of Jordyn staring down my lens with that gorgeous head of hair!
Some of my favorite moments during any newborn session are usually the everyday interactions in-between. I love seeing images of little ones being soothed by their parents. I love to look back and see just how tiny those babies of yours were, all of the baby details, the way they snuggled into your neck. Definitely some of my faves! In any newborn session, I try to take the time to photograph those fleeting newborn/parent moments along with baby-focused images of course!
Jordyn looked adorable in her coming home outfit which was perfect since Valentine's Day happened the week of our photo session! We decided to take advantage of the gorgeous weather and let baby Jordyn lie in the sun on a few soft blankets in her Valentine's best.

Wilmington │128 South Stylish Bohemian Folk Wedding
Wilmington, NC wedding at the beautiful 128 South venue with a unique Bohemian Folk theme.
Amy, Tim and I met for our beautiful Fort Fisher engagement session and when they showed up with one of their awesome pups, I knew this was going to be one of my favorite weddings to date! The venue was absolutely perfect. 128 South is an amazing wedding venue in downtown Wilmington, NC and fantastic for so many different wedding types. I typically start each wedding way ahead of my second shooter, as I am with the girls and the boys generally take much less time to get ready. Amy was able to use the bridal suite of 128 South, The Cottage on Orange Street, which I highly recommend using. It is the perfect set up, and makes for one gorgeous "Getting Ready" scene backdrop. After Tim & Amy had their special moment, "Uncle Timmy" got a second First Look of the darling flower girl! And let's not forget the sweet puppy kisses from their zoo at the end!
The Boys
While Amy was getting ready, Tim and the boys were getting ready as well with my second shooter, and hubby, Thor (yes, that is his real name, and yes, it is pretty cool!). Boys take about .05 seconds to throw on their wedding day attire but the in between moments are always some of my faves.
The First Look
Amy & Tim wanted to do a First Look with each other, which I of course am so for! Not only does it lend itself to some pretty emotional and beautiful images of one of those highlight moments of your wedding day, but you also knock back those nerves before your walk down the aisle! After Tim & Amy had their special moment, "Uncle Timmy" got a second First Look of the darling flower girl! And let's not forget the sweet puppy kisses from their zoo at the end!
The Wedding Ceremony
The ceremony was beautiful! The couples favorite band, The Mid-Atlantic, played live throughout the entire wedding which was a wonderful tie in for their Bohemian Folk style wedding. The flower girl darted up the aisle and wanted to hold Uncle Timmy's hand during the ceremony, which was adorable. The lighting by High Performance Lighting was incredible. Perfect ceremony!

Fort Fisher │ Merritt Family Fall Session
When a wonderful past bride, Amy, contacted me (see their engagement session here, their amazing wedding post will be up sooooooooon) to schedule a family session for her maid of honor Michelle, I was so excited! Michelle was pregnant with their little boy at the wedding, and has an adorable 3 year old daughter, Chloe who I could not wait to photograph again. They chose a favorite location, Fort Fisher, which never disappoints.
When a wonderful past bride, Amy, contacted me (see their engagement session here, their amazing wedding post will be up sooooooooon) to schedule a family session for her maid of honor Michelle, I was so excited! Michelle was pregnant with their little boy at the wedding, and has an adorable 3 year old daughter, Chloe who I could not wait to photograph again. They chose a favorite location, Fort Fisher, which never disappoints. We started our session with baby Carter, a bundle of snuggable baby thighs and the poutiest baby lips ever!
Once Chloe had finished picking out her outfit, she joined us for our little walk exploring around Fort Fisher. She couldn't wait to push the buttons on my camera (which is typically the bribe I use for the kiddos to find a little patience when the photo session is almost over) and was absolutely adorable from start to finish!
How stinkin' cute is Chloe? I asked her to show me her favorite happy face and this is what she did:
She is the best!
The sweetest moments from our fall photo session at Fort Fisher came when Chloe got to hold her new little brother all by herself. She was so proud!

Wilmington │Melanie is One
Just LOOK at that baby face! Such a beauty! My friend, Gabrielle, has the most beautiful family so I just had to take them out to downtown Wilmington for a little family mini session followed by a birthday cupcake to celebrate Melanie's 1st birthday! Melanie and her sister, Mya, are adorable and my little girl absolutely loves them. I had a ball spending a little time with them on this morning family shoot!

Downtown Wilmington │The Spine Family
I tell you what, give me a downtown Wilmington early morning photo shoot with the Spine family any day! Adorable children, great parents, beautiful weather and no one out and about yet, the downtown area was basically ours for the taking. Perfect! Ashley & Joel, I loved spending time with your little family and it's such a bonus that we all happen to live in the same neighborhood with kids about the same age! Friends, Mason & Harper are about to make you say "awww" a time or two, you've been warned... ;)

The Ohler family and I visited Poplar Grove Plantation's nature trail, Abbey Nature Preserve, for this woodsy family photo session to document the big T-W-O. Wilmington, NC: Jimmy & Rachael's Wedding- Part One
Jimmy & Rachael's Wilmington, NC wedding a Kenan Chapel in Landfall was simply beautiful! It's an incredible honor to be chosen to photograph what will likely be one of the most memorable moments of a couple's life. Thank you, Rach & Jimmy for having us along for the ride on your big day! Jimmy & Rachael's Wilmington, NC wedding a Kenan Chapel in Landfall was simply beautiful! The weather held off long enough for the day to go off without a hitch, the guests were so fun, Rachael was STUNNING and I cannot get over the way Jimmy looks at Rachael as if she's the sun in his world. It's an incredible honor to be chosen to photograph what will likely be one of the most memorable moments of a couple's life. Thank you, Rach & Jimmy for having us along for the ride on your big day! Some of the best moments of the day are those early getting ready scenes: the happy, nervous energy that fills the room, the ear-to-ear smiles, it's so good!
^ I am so lucky to work with Erica, my second shooter, who always hangs out with the boys as they get ready while I stay with the girls. She can see the magic in a moment and click her camera so fast, that you walk away feeling like you not only relive those moments visually, but can actually hear the laughter of those boys!
The happy couple held their ceremony at Kenan Chapel in Landfall, such a beautiful little space!
"I do"s were exchanged, a long smooch followed and then big smiles as they walked out to a sea of bubbles and congratulatory hugs!

Wilmington: Jayden's Newborn Session

Some of you might not know that I work a day job, and one of the many perks of being a coworker of mine, is that if and when you have a brand new little baby to welcome to the world, I'm going to become your own personal baby paparazzi! Josh & Jackie, it was such a treat to get to snuggle your little one and as an added bonus: I resisted bundling him up and tucking him safely away in my camera bag, where I planned to surprise my husband with our latest addition ;) He's just perfect, guys! A Fort Fisher Maternity Session: Gabrielle
In just a few more weeks, a new baby girl will be making her big debut into this family's mix! I had to sneak Gabby & Mya away for a maternity shoot at Fort Fisher, one of my favorite locations in the area to capture photographs of this Mama & her babies in all their glory. Here are just a few of my favorites from our shoot!
When I found out that my old coworker, Gabby, and her beautiful family were moving into the neighborhood, I was so excited! Mya, her little girl, is just a few years older than Isla and I cannot wait to see all the fun they have together. Even more exciting is knowing that in just a few more weeks, their new baby girl will be making her big debut into the mix! St. James Plantation- Bianca Maternity Session
One of my favorite locations, St. James Plantation in Southport, NC, was calling our names when it came time for Bianca's maternity session, seeing as we both have worked on this property before! Woodlands Park was so pretty with the last splash of fall colors in the leaves, with just enough dappled sunlight streaming through... (sigh) just gorgeous! I was so excited to meet Bianca & Channing as they celebrated the pregnancy of their first baby, a little boy they named Atlas.
One of my favorite locations, St. James Plantation in Southport, NC, was calling our names when it came time for Bianca's maternity session, seeing as we both have worked on this property before!
