Megan and Shawn’s maternity session at Bellevue State Park was a beautiful celebration of love and anticipation as they prepare to welcome their baby girl, Camden Rose. There’s something so special about capturing the excitement and love that comes with expecting a little one. Megan and Shawn’s maternity session at Bellevue State Park was a beautiful reflection of this chapter in their lives as they await the arrival of their baby girl, Camden Rose.
Megan looked absolutely radiant in her deep magenta gown, cradling her growing belly with so much love and anticipation. Shawn was right by her side, sharing sweet moments and soaking in the joy of what’s to come. The way he looked at her, held her close, and rested his hand on her bump made it clear—this little girl is already so loved.
Bellevue State Park was the perfect setting for their session. The natural tones of winter, the rustic stone walls, and the classic green barn gave us a timeless backdrop that made every shot feel warm and intimate. One of the sweetest moments? A tiny pair of pink baby shoes resting on a wooden table, a simple but powerful reminder that their family is about to grow.

Even with the limitations that surround us at this crazy point in time in the world, the Arboretum still offers many beautiful locations throughout their walking trails to use for socially distanced photography sessions. Fort Fisher │Katy Maternity
Through this little camera of mine, I have been able to photograph some of the most amazing parts of my clients' lives: engagements, weddings, high school seniors, watching families grow over the years... but I do believe that maternity & the newborn sessions that follow have a BIG part of my heart! It's just a beautiful time. Katy & Peter are patiently awaiting the arrival of their first baby, a son, who is a few days past due now. We are ALL excited and I thought tonight would be the perfect time to reflect on their last photo session with baby in mom's belly. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful Fort Fisher evening!

So, I've decided that if Julia Roberts and Lea Michele from "Glee" had a lovechild, Katie would be that gorgeous offspring. Now that I've mentioned it, I know you'll see it: beautiful hair, that Julie smile, an absolutely stunning Mama-in-the-Making! Unbelievable skies and near perfect weather, this maternity shoot is one to remember....

A few weeks following her ridiculously cute Reveal Party (where we found out she is having a little girl), Katie and I headed out to Kure Beach for her maternity session, which we ALMOST called on the count of rain. Oh, friends, I could not be more happy that we decided to press on and see if the weather would hold out! Unbelievable skies and near perfect weather, this maternity shoot is one to remember....

When one of your oldest friends invites you to her baby sister's Reveal Party to photograph the happy couple finding out if they are having a little boy or a little girl, you jump at the chance and click happily away with your camera... so that's just what I did! The party took place in Southern Pines, NC, in a cute little courtyard next to Katie's salon, (Bamboo, a boutique salon) and we had perfect weather for the event! Katie, you are one GORGEOUS pregnant mama, and it's crazy to even type that because I still see you as Franny's fourteen year old kid sister! You wear motherhood well, Katie and I could not be more happy for you & Justin!

Fort Fisher │ Isabel's Maternity Revisit
During the bitter cold winter months, I love to go back through my memory cards and revisit a favorite photo session or two. Over the years, Isabel has become not only a client but a friend and I loved going back through these images today. During the bitter cold winter months, I love to go back through my memory cards and revisit a favorite photo session or two; sessions with warmer weather and sun-kissed clients is a big plus! Isabel reached out to me to take her maternity photos after we met on her sister-in-law's wedding day while I was photographing all of the magic of The Bagwell's wedding. Over the years, Isabel has become not only a client but a friend and I loved going back through these images today. To be the photographer chosen to capture the joyful, nervous energy filled moments that go hand in hand with being pregnant with your first child, it's really such an honor. Their little boy, Liam, is such a gorgeous little soul and it's easy to see where he gets that from. It's funny how this little device called a camera has brought so many people into my life, and in front of my lens. When I first met Isabel, she was a bridesmaid in my friend Ali's wedding. Beautiful bride, beautiful friends: win-win!

Fast forward a bit, and I receive an email from Isabel asking if I would be able to do their maternity photos. Absolutely, of course, don't mind if I do! Gorgeous then, ridiculously gorgeous now!
We headed off to Fort Fisher, one of my absolute favorite shoot locations in the area, for our maternity session, and I am so glad that we did! The ocean, the natural beauty of the environment and this laid-back couple, it was a match made in heaven.
Josh & Isabel, I am so thrilled for you both. Liam is one lucky little boy, I can picture him now in little board shorts learning how to ride the waves with Daddy while Mama stands with her toes in the sand taking a million photos... you are going to be wonderful parents! In just a short time, I will be headed your way to cuddle that baby of yours! Here's to the next big adventure! Congratulations!!!
