Around September or so, the inquiries for Fall Mini Sessions come rolling in and before I know it, the calendar is jam-packed with families wanting to check off a few To Do list items before the big holiday rush. You may remember this family from our downtown Wilmington, NC family session (if not, you should definitely click here to check it out). Ashley & Joel have the most adorable kiddos and we decided to spend the afternoon on a nature trail to make the most of the fall foliage for their mini session.

Fall Foliage Mini Sessions for the win!

The best part about this particular trail for me is that at a certain point, the trail opens up to this small bridge surrounded by trees and water, which I absolutely love. The kids always get  kick out of it and it feels like such a hidden gem in Wilmington, NC.

Prepare yourself, friends. This little miss is absolutely adorable! If you are trying to avoid baby fever, this is not the post for you. The baby rolls. The sweet expressions. The hand dimples!!! Birdie, you were a delight to photograph during our mini session! This gorgeous weather has me chomping at the bit to get outside in Maryland and photograph allllllllll the sweet families. When a wonderful past bride, Amy, contacted me (see their engagement session here, their amazing wedding post will be up sooooooooon) to schedule a family session for her maid of honor Michelle, I was so excited! Michelle was pregnant with their little boy at the wedding, and has an adorable 3 year old daughter, Chloe who I could not wait to photograph again. They chose a favorite location, Fort Fisher, which never disappoints.

I. adore. this. kid. 

She just kills me with those big brown eyes and her adorable little smile, so so sweet! Josie and I go waaaaay back, you may remember her Mom's maternity shoot, Reveal Party, and Josie's newborn sessions!  When Katie called me to book Josie's 1 Year Cake Smash session, I first had to pinch myself because there was no possible way a full year had already flown by and we were prepping for a first birthday for that sweet newborn. Seriously you guys, how in the world is it all flying by so fast?? I of course jumped at the chance to see Josie for this photo session and I think you would have to agree that her Mom pulled together some pretty sweet props for us! I tell you what, give me a downtown Wilmington early morning photo shoot with the Spine family any day! Adorable children, great parents, beautiful weather and no one out and about yet, the downtown area was basically ours for the taking. Perfect! Ashley & Joel, I loved spending time with your little family and it's such a bonus that we all happen to live in the same neighborhood with kids about the same age! Time flies when you're having fun, and the next thing you know you've done Marshall's newborn shoot and over a year or so passes... Kristen and I decided to set a date and head out to Oak Island for a sunset beach session with her boys!

Keally and Chris are clients who hold a special place in my heart. You can check out their wedding, their beautiful sunflower field maternity & their newborn sessions with just a teeny little mouse click :) Last week, I was able to spend a little time with their ADORABLE six month old baby boy, Joaquin, and my camera and I are in love!!! This session was great because we didn't do a ton of poses, we simply let Joaquin enjoy the sunny day in his front yard with his parents and I snapped away at their family spending time together, my absolute favorite way to photograph family moments!

It's so awesome to look back through an older photo session and find a new favorite or two that somehow stands out to you more now than it may have originally. These photos were so sweet when I first posted them a few years back,  but looking back through them now and seeing how TEENY her kiddos were, and those "mom looks" that I see on Stacey's face as she looks at her beautiful babies, full of pride and love... these photos are so worth a little revisit. Stacey and her little tribe are some of my favorites and frequent the blog, and I may have a few adorable photos of her sister & niece when Baby Jay was soooooooo new for a little added bonus :)
